Nick Cardinez

Nick Cardinez is the CFO of Hannover Re (Bermuda) Lt., the Centre of Excellence for Property Cat within the Hannover Re Group. He manages the balance sheets and reporting under IFRS, Solvency II and Solvency II Equivalent regimes, coordinates international compliance, regulation and cross border tax issues and sits on the Investment Committee. Nick also held the CRO position for 2 years while developing the Risk Management function to comply with the BMA Insurance Code of Conduct. He is the officer responsible for strategy in automation and digitization and engages with Hannover Re Group in related opportunities.

Nick studied Mathematics and Computer Engineering and at the University of Southern California and possesses a BSc in Mathematics. He pursued Accounting at UCLA and obtained his CPA accreditation from the State of California. He also holds the Fellow Life Management Institute designation.

He is a 20+ year veteran of the (re)insurance industry with experience in P&C, Life and Annuities, and Structured Finance in the USA and Bermuda, as well as in the Insurance practice with PricewaterhouseCoopers Los Angeles. Nick has in the last 18 months completed short certificate courses from MIT and Johns Hopkins in the FinTech, Big Data Social Analytics and Cybersecurity spaces.
