Dan Woods

Dan Woods is CEO of Socotra, which brings modern enterprise software productization to core insurance IT.  Prior to that, Dan did IT investing and portfolio building for Formation 8 Partners (now 8VC, which Dan still advises), where Dan specialized in data platforms and smart enterprise.  Dan’s depth of enterprise experience starts earlier, when he worked six years with Palantir.  There, Dan was a core engineer on Palantir version 1.0 and later transitioned to run Palantir’s partnerships, plus several deployments.  Dan Woods holds a masters of science in computer science from Stanford University, where he was published in artificial intelligence (ISMB ‘Best Paper’ 2006).  Dan’s mission today is modernizing insurance IT by applying approaches and technologies proven in other data-intensive industries.
